This workshop will explore writing about love, lust, sex and desire. We'll discuss romantic tension, conflict, tropes, moving the story forward through desire, the necessity of consent, and respectful sexytimes. Guided by erotic romance author Tamara Lush, students will read and discuss a variety of sensual works. Well also explore why its easier to write bad, cliched sex, and why you should avoid it at all costs. If time permits, the class will also talk about the realities of publishing erotic romance/erotica in todays market.
About the Instructor: Tamara Lush writes steamy and emotional contemporary romance stories set in tropical locations. Her recent book, Constant Craving, was a 2018 RWA RITA® finalist in erotic romance. Her short story, Words With Friends, was included in Best Womens Erotica, Vol. 4, published by Cleis Press.
She's married to an Italian and lives near a beach in Florida. For many years, she was an award-winning newspaper journalist. In 2017, she was one of 24 writers chosen by Amtrak to ride around the United States on a train and write fiction.
Tamara's a fan of vintage pulp fiction book covers, Sinatra-era jazz, 1980s fashion, tropical chill, kombucha, gin, tonic, seashells, iPhones, Art Deco, telenovelas, coloring books, street art, coconut anything, strong coffee and journalism. Her work can be found on Amazon, Wattpad, and the Radish serial fiction app.
