Renee Wahl from Nashville and Lauren Wahl from Santa Cruz have never met until this one June 12 show came together around their love of Americana music and a shared last name.

Renee Wahl & David Strayer: Renee Wahl is a teacher; shes a physics major; shes a former member of the Air Force, and shes a damn good musician. This skillset shown in the music she makes. Her brand of Americana is sharp as a tack. Its precise and carefully thought out, yet wrought with an emotional rawness that cannot be taught. Her soulful voice has a grit thatll give you goosebumps, and her innate gift of storytelling will make you feel like youve lived through every song lyric she sings. David Strayer, who plays with Renee in her band The Sworn Secrets add the rhythm flavor on his cocktail drum kit.

Lauren Wahl is Santa Cruz based singer-songwriter and lead singer of her band Simply Put. A musician in the local circuit for many years, she has recently began to make a name for herself as a talented and passionate songwriter. Her acoustic finger-picking guitar accompanies the surprisingly rich timbre of her voice. Favoring minor key tonality and introspective lyrics, her songs range from soul-full ballads to the occasional comedic parody. A natural entertainer and trained vocalist, Lauren's music is a powerhouse driving a musical narrative.
