Celebrate Spring, Poetry and Art in the Garden: The Afternoon Carriage House Salon continues!
The Pardee Museum's Salon Series Continues: Celebrate Spring, Poetry and Art in the Garden
On Sunday, June 9th, 2019 from 4 PM TO 6 PM we will be celebrating the season in our lovely garden with a reading from "Gardening Out Loud" by poet Judith Offer, a botanical exhibit by artist, Anne Kasdin and an opportunity to see vintage posters from the Pardee family collection. One of Judith Offers five books of poetry is entirely about gardening. Katherine Endicott, garden columnist for the SF CHRON, called GARDENING OUT LOUD A gem. A treasure to take out and read again and again. Judith has read her poetry at scores of poetry venues, but is particularly delighted to have been included in the Library of Congress series and on All Things Considered, on NPR.
Anne Hedley Kasdin is an active volunteer at the Pardee Museum and an accomplished artist who specializes in fine original and prints of botanicals. (She is the artist who designed the poppy tote sold in our Gift Shop) Growing up in England, she was influenced by her grandmother who nurtured a fabulous garden filled with sweet peas and other old fashion flowers, much like the Pardee Family grew in theirs. After viewing the art and the poetry reading, we will enjoy a champagne reception with hors d'oeuvres and sweets. A wonderful way to end a spring day. $25 per person, all proceeds go to the Pardee Home Museum. Reserve by calling Richelle Lieberman 510.381.1973 or purchase them here at Brown Paper Tickets.
