Sarah Gooch Trio

Her deep love to swing started at an early age when her grandfather introduced her to the sounds of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. She is influenced by drummers such as: Kenny Clarke, Roy Haynes, Philly Jo Jones and Louis Hayes. Sarah moved to New York City in 2018 and is currently pursing a masters degree at The Juilliard School. She plays frequently all over NYC and travels with the Gordon Webster band. She received her Bachelors of Music degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2018. While studying at UNCGs prestigious Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program, she frequently played alongside her teachers and mentors: Chad Eby, Steve Haines, and Brandon Lee and studied privately with Thomas Taylor. She was a member of Jazz Ensemble 1 and the Spartan Jazz Collective. Her work ethic and versatility as a drummer became well known over North Carolina. Joining her will be bassist Jason Clotter and pianist Gerand McDowell.
