On Monday, May 13, Vancouvers leading new music ensemble, Standing Wave, presents Ex Machina, a musical exploration of the intersections between art, music and technology. Featuring the world premiere of Gordon Fitzells Deus Ex Machina: The Nine Lives of Schrodingers Cat, a new electro-acoustic work that takes its inspiration from historys most famous philosophical paradox. Also on the program are Pink Pink Pierrot, a new addition to our 20C REMIX project from Paul Steenhuisen, a new arrangement by the composer of Aram Bajakians Dolphy Formations, as well as works by Brian Current and Mayke Nas.
