Event
ASME STS - Thursday, May 16th - "Data Analysis & Predictive Maintenance for Wind Turbines"
SPEAKER: Simon Bao Fleet Analysis Regional Lead E.ON Climate & Renewables
TOPIC SUMMARY:
This presentation will be an overview of the Renewable Energy Industry with emphasis on wind turbines. After looking at wind turbines from a high level, the presentation will focus on data analysis of the turbines and the methods of monitoring and performance evaluation. Simon will then discuss predictive maintenance of wind turbines and how the data would dictate the schedule.
SPEAKER'S BIOGRAPHY:
Simon Bao holds M.Sc. of Manufacturing Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology and B.S. of Mechanical Engineering/Business Administration from Tianjin University at China. He has been working in oil & gas and renewable energy industry, focused on mechanical engineering design and analysis. As a certified vibration analyst (CAT IV), Simon had led projects of conducting advanced fault/condition analysis and solving chronic mechanical problems both on-site and remotely. Simon is leading a team to conduct condition monitoring/predictive maintenance and evaluate performance of wind turbines through data analysis.
Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates will be available to participants at the conclusion of the event.
