"VOICES" Lunch & Visual Arts Workshop with Jesse Krimes at Ebenezer Church, 701 N Lime St, Lancaster
Join formerly incarcerated artist and Lancaster native Jesse Krimes for a workshop exploring issues of incarceration, reentry, and community. Participants will be instructed in image collage techniques and have their works incorporated into a large community quilt. Voices aims to elevate the voices of those most affected by crime and punishment and connect shared beliefs into a collective vision for building a more safe and just society. The project will culminate in a public exhibition with accompanying programming at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm.

Voices is being created in partnership with the Lancaster County RMO for Returning Citizens , and is supported by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the Art for Justice Fund in collaboration with the Ford Foundation.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jesse Krimes is a artist who lives and works in Philadelphia. While serving a six-year prison sentence, he produced numerous bodies of work, established prison art programs, and worked collaboratively with his peers. Since his release in 2014, he has partnered with the Soze agency to co-found the Right of Return USA Fellowship, the
first national fellowship dedicated to supporting formerly incarcerated
artists. Krimes is a 2017 Robert Rauschenberg Artist as Activist
Fellow and 2018 Art For Justice Fund fellow.

PARKING: There is a small parking lot along the side of the church, that you enter from Lime St, just past the intersection of New St. Come in the side door off of the parking lot, and go UP the steps just inside the door.
