Multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter and all round game-for-anything musical madman Dinty Child (Session Americana, Chandler Travis) has assembled an impressive array of musical friends and collaborators to kick off the first night of INTO THE WILD with DINTY CHILD. This night will be a reoccurring show that will features Dinty and an every changing cast of incredibly talented musicians.
DINTY CHILD Dinty is a longtime member of the Boston roots/folk scene. A fearless multi-instrumentalist, he can most often be seen with the band Session Americana, as well as the Chandler Travis Philharmonic, the unapologetically loud and grimy Catbirds, as sensitive sideman to any number of singer/songwriters, including Rose Cousins and Kris Delmhorst, and even fronting the twenty piece party band, the Funky White Honkies.
PETER MULVEY Peter Mulvey is a veteran singer and songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He began his career on the streets of Dublin, Ireland, as a busker, and from there moved on to performing in the subways and streets of Boston, Massachusetts. This led to his first record deal and a leap to full-time national and international touring, beginning in the early Nineties.
CHANDLER TRAVIS Chandler Travis has had a long and checkered career in the world of show biz, beginning in the seventies when he and Steve Shook joined up as Travis Shook and the Club Wow. Besides achieving much popularity on the east coast, the duo brought their peculiar blend of comedy and music all over the U.S. and to the nationwide television audience on such programs as the Tonight Show, the Midnight Special, and Dick Cavett. Along the way, they released an album and appeared on stage with everyone from Bonnie Raitt to Bruce Springsteen to especially good pals NRBQ and George Carlin (with whom they toured for many years) to Elvis Costello to well, you get the idea.
MÀIRI CHAIMBEUL Màiri Chaimbeul is a boston-based harp player and composer from the isle of skye in scotland. described by folk radio uk as "astonishing", she is known for her versatile sound, which combines deep roots in gaelic tradition with a distinctive improvising voice and honed classical technique.
BARRY ROTHMAN Barry Rothman, often performing as Radi0Swan, utilizes electronics and phonographs to manipulate found and prerecorded sounds in conjunction with traditional and homemade instruments plus voice, to create unique soundtracks and songs that tend to travel to unplanned and unexpected places.
