Nachito Herrera
Everwood Farmstead Foundation launches its 8th season of the Artist Series with Nachito Herrera on Saturday, June 29th.
Ignacio Nachito Herrera stunned Cuban audiences at the age of 12, performing Rachmaninoff's Concerto No 2 with the Havana Symphony Orchestra. Since then, Nachito has played at many of the worlds finest concert halls and prestigious jazz festivals. Named City Pages Best Jazz Artist for several years, he has also received several Minnesota Music Awards. Nachito has performed with multiple orchestras, including the Minnesota Orchestra, Metropolitan Orchestra, Minnesota Youth Symphony and Cuban National Symphony.
Hotter than the burning tip of a contraband Cuban cigar. Stronger than a straight shot of Havana rum. As exciting as a World Series game, with El Duque on the mound. Explosive. Crowd-pleasing. Rhythmically intense. Romantic. Dynamic. Jaw-droppingly good. Tom Surrowicz, Minneapolis Star-Tribune
Everwood's Pay-What-You-Can ticket price is simple - choose your ticket price from the list above. One-half of your ticket price will be provided to the artists and the other half will be distributed through Everwood's Aspiring Artists Fund. The Fund provides grants to arts-focused teachers in Barron, Dunn, Pepin, Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties for projects that spark wonder and talent in their young, aspiring artists. Everwood reveals a recipient(s) at each performance. Since 2010, Everwood has donated over $23,000 to local school programs.
