In his Division III, Gabe Sklan examines rape culture through the lens of media studies and celebrity worship. During the fall semester, he conducted a series of interviews about peoples reactions to celebrities exposed for sexual misconduct (Bill Cosby, Louis C.K., Paul Reubens, etc.), and this spring he is in the process of writing a play adapted almost entirely from the transcripts of those interviews. His intention is to make the public thoughts that are ambivalent, complex, personal, and generally kept private. This is not a play about celebrities or about said celebrities' victims. It is a play about people who engage in modern culture's iconification of celebrities and their responses to those icons shattering.
