The power and product of community is the story about a bar that is well known for their signature Friday open mics. This bar is owned by a Black femme named Mississippi and hosted by another Black femme named Trisha. A community of artists has been running these Friday open mics for a while now. They have histories and stories of their own that they share with members and one another. On this particular night, there is an induction ceremony happening for new members, which only takes place once a month. New members are given a specific Friday open mic to attend so that they can be formally welcomed into the community. You all are our new members and we welcome you with open arms and love. On this seemingly simple induction evening, There is some surprising news that is released on this night changing everyone's expectations.
