Long time friends GIL "XL" DEFAY & GASHFORD GUILLAUME bring their live music to ShapeShifter Lab for an evening featuring two wonderful bands!

GIL "XL" DEFAY'S music is one that aims to encourage reflection upon the expression of positivity, gratitude and joy.
With foundations in Jazz, Hip Hop, Gospel, World and Caribbean Music. The musical journey that Gil and his team will bring you on is uplifting and fun each time.

Gil, who will be on trumpet, will be accompanied by: Ansy Defay (Tenor/Soprano saxophones) , Antonio Penalva (Guitar), Joel Desroches (Keyboards), Matthew Smythe (Keyboards), Parker McAllister (Bass), Ben Nicolas (drums), Bendji Allonce (percussion). With special guests: Patrick Pelissier (vocoder) & Jonathan Jean Baptiste (percussion).

GASHFORD GUILLAUME (Haitian-American jazz drummer & band leader) will be featuring his band "Creole Fusion Ensemble". Their performance will feature his original compositions and arrangements ranging from straight ahead, fusion and creole jazz music.
He will be accompanied by: Ofer Assaf (saxophone), Ted Cruz (piano), Jim Robertson (bass), and Jean Mary Brignol (Haitian drums).
