The Little Road: Songs of Journey and Home is a unique collaboration between the womens a cappella ensemble Sound Circle and members of Wild Earth Ensemble. Fresh, fun, warm, and reassuring, its a concert with a dazzling range of styles and colors, grounded in simple presence.
Sound Circle is Boulders 19-voice women's a cappella ensemble, directed by Sue Coffee. Singing together for 25 years, Sound Circle offers music that speaks of their experience of the world, with attention to authentic voice and awareness of the healing power of ensemble singing. Most of their music is contemporary, and much of it is created by women. Sound Circle performances are consistently noted for their creativity and depth of programming, as well as their warmth, freshness, and beauty.
Wild Earth Ensemble is a revolving supergroup of all-star musicians who share a deep care and concern for the stewardship of our planet and a deep commitment to following the call of wild creative flow. The result is a diverse, moving, deep musical experience. Featured for this concert are Sandra Wong, Deborah Schmit-Lobis and Joy Adams, offering a joyous, soulful journey around the globe featuring music of Ireland, Appalachia, Scandinavia, the Middle East, originals and more. Their exquisite instrumentation includes voice, violin, nyckelharpa, cello, and piano.
