Carmen Mama Crow, song bird with a strong word (New York native and Northern California transplant) evokes listeners on a deep, soul level. Her sound is a mix of rhythmic, funky finger picking and string slapping, guttural blues belts and quick lyrical flow with insidious phrasing.Vocally, she is like the love-child of Feist, Lauryn Hill, Cat Powers and Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote. With a genre ranging in a fusion of acoustic R&B, Neo-soul, Experimental Folk and Spoken Word with Hip Hop influence, this artist provides a high-energy, danceable live show while she pulls on your heart strings with vulnerable, sonic soliloquies.
Janet Croteau is a songwriter, spoken word artist and psychotherapist. Her music and comedic stage presence is infused with a quirky and effervescent spirit. She makes you think and laugh at the same time - and believes that if we stop being who we really are, the real people will never find us. Janet, hostess of Women Who Folking Rock and creator of the Santa Cruz spoken word troupe "Tell Me More, has recently released her first album Wild Heart. She believes in the power of creative self-expression to heal - and delight.
Rachel Anne Goodman is a singer, songwriter, teacher and radio producer from Bonny Doon, California. Her songs are grounded in traditional American folk and roots music from Appalachia to California. She can be heard on KSQD 90.7 FM, the new community radio station in Santa Cruz that she helped bring into existence.
