Parker Hastings at Waynesville Music
THIS CONCERT IS NOW SOLD OUT. Please check back on Waynesville Music's Facebook Event page for more upcoming exceptional guitar performances.
Born and raised in central Kentucky, Parker Hastings took up guitar at age 6. But, as the story goes, he saw Tommy Emmanuel in concert at age 8, and his life's path was revealed. Parker became a member of the National Thumbpicker's Hall of Fame when his first recording project "Whimsical Smiles" was inducted into that institution in 2016 as "Recording of the Year"... before Parker was even old enough to drive! Parkers boyhood hero, Tommy Emmanuel, joined him in the studio for a song on that recording, a resounding validation of the excellence and virtuosity that Parker has since cultivated in his fingerpicking style. You'll hear traces of his other guitar heroes in his playing and compositions, legends like Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed, Richard Smith and Thom Bresh. Unlike most of those Country Gentlemen, however, Parker is unafraid to occasionally step up to the mike with confident vocals to make any Rockabilly fan beam. His newest CD entitled "Breezin' Through Life" has a constant and unerring focus on melody, and his compositions radiate an infectious vibe of joy.
