"The Best of Billie and Me"

Everwood Farmstead Foundation continues its 8th season of the Artist Series with "The Best of Billie and Me" featuring Thomasina Petrus with Thom West (piano), Kevin Washington (drums) and Ron Evaniuk (bass) on Saturday, July 27th.

The Best of Billie and Me is a celebration of the music and life of Jazz great Billie Holiday, and the artists and era that shaped her as an artist, woman and activist. Her influence on Thomasina Petrus' own style and success is explored and celebrated in this 90-minute performance. She is accompanied by Twin Cities' leading jazz musicians Thom West (piano), Kevin Washington (drums) and Ron Evaniuk (bass), all original members of the "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill" cast at Jungle Theatre's sold-out run in 2018. Combining her own unique voice and approach to celebrated songs in Jazz, Thomasina is known for her ability to capture the voice of Billie Holiday. Everwood's Pay-What-You-Can ticket price is simple - choose your ticket price from the list above. One-half of your ticket price will be provided to the artists and the other half will be distributed through Everwood's Aspiring Artists Fund. The Fund provides grants to arts-focused teachers in Barron, Dunn, Pepin, Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties for projects that spark wonder and talent in their young, aspiring artists. Everwood reveals a recipient(s) at each performance. Since 2010, Everwood has donated over $23,000 to local school programs.
