The Birds and the Bees AND the Chickens - Animal Illustration Workshop with Sarah Nelson
Everwood Farmstead Foundation is proud to present the Artist Workshop "The Birds and the Bees AND the Chickens - Animal Illustration" with Sarah Nelson on Saturday, August 3rd from 10 am - 3 pm!
Would you like to learn how to illustrate what you see in nature? Sarah Nelson's workshop is an introduction to pen and marker animal illustration techniques. Maybe you are already an illustrator looking for a community, or you're in need of a reason to allow time for drawing? The Animal Illustration workshop, which is appropriate for ages 12 and older, is an excellent opportunity for all skill levels to enjoy nature, community and a love for drawing. Sarah will focus on three animals you can't miss at Everwood - birds, bees and chickens!
Each participant will learn to mix and blend markers to improve shading, and establish a solid understanding of fine art pens with the purpose of creating texture and vibrancy found in animals. Participants will be guided step-by-step so have no fear! Each participant will conclude the workshop having created a finished illustration.
Sarah Nelson is a visual artist based in St. Paul, MN. Her work highlights arduous detail and extensive color layering. Primarily working with pen and markers, her work concentrates on environmental concerns, ranging from endangered species, pollinators, symbiotic relationships between species, to the interconnectivity of ecosystems. She recently completed a fully illustrated interior and exterior Green Line light rail wrap for Metro Transit's 2019 Earth Week Celebration.
Class size will be limited to 15 participants.
The price for the Workshop is $55 a person (which includes all supplies, lunch and beverages).
Participants should bring: * Comfortable clothes and sensible shoes based on the weather
