A benefit reading!! Come join us in Austria as the von Krapps, a lesser known singing family in Sazlburg, negotiate their own hilarious way through the turmoil of pre-WWII, helped by a young governess with a secret of her own.

Inspired by the well-known and beloved musical, CLAPTRAPP presents Captain Georg Von Krapp, his two children, Artur and Tina, his fiancee, the Parisian chanteuse Jolie Ta-Ta, and the new governess, Maria, thrown together amid the turmoil of pre-WWII Austria.

While parodying, to a large degree, the original musical, CLAPTRAPP spins its own convoluted, comedic, and ultimately, gender-bending story. Adding to the humor is one additional treat: Within the play, lyrics of songs from forty-six other American musicals become part of the dialogue.  Those who know their musical comedies will recognize most or all of the references. Approx: 55 minutes running time.
