HSA Presents "SARAH CREWE"
HSA Presents SARAH CREWE
Harlem School of the Arts presents the Spring 2019 Musical Sarah Crewe, based on the popular character of the Frances Hodgson Burnett children's novel, A Little Princess.
Sarah Crewe, a newly orphaned, fifteen year old heiress is enrolled by her familys attorney, Mr. Barrow at Miss Minchins School of Ballet. Her fate becomes more uncertain when the 1929 stock market crashes and her inheritance is lost. From riches to rags, young Sarah is left victim to the strict head mistress, Miss Minchin, who indentures her to a life of servitude. Without a penny to her name, Sarah plots with her friends Becky, Louis and Harry a way to regain her freedom. Set in Sugar Hill Harlem 1929, Sarah Crewe is a new musical by John Carden and Andrew Sotomayor based on the characters from the original book The Little Princess written by Frances H. Burnett.
