Voena in Concert, with Gideon Bendile
Join the award-winning international choir Voena for the spectacular "Voices Of Peace" concert tour, coming to the Glaser Center for their first Sonoma County appearance! In Voices of Peace, the astonishing voices of Voena will merge dancing and singing, with a splash of color that reaches across borders and unites our world with a vision for peace. Featuring Gideon Bendile (heard on the original soundtrack of The Lion King, the movie), the show includes such songs as 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and 'The Prayer.' With 100+ voices ranging in age from 6 to 18, Voena achieves rich and inventive a cappella vocal arrangements by using multiple percussion instruments, dance, and theatrical elements, while singing music in up to 20 languages and dialects. Violinist and founder/director, Annabelle Marie, incorporating her unique style of "physical singing," directs the voices of Voena, honored as goodwill ambassador representing the United States at the world renowned Soweto Cultural Heritage Festival in South Africa in September 2009.
