Advocacy for Nonprofits - Back to Basics
More and more, nonprofits are using advocacy and lobbying to accomplish their missions. Using advocacy and lobbying are powerful tools to get more funding for their programs and change rules, regulations and laws to work better for their communities. Nonprofits are recognizing that we cant do this work alone and we need to partner with our state and local governments to create the change we want to see in our communities.
Can nonprofits do advocacy and lobbying to accomplish their missions? Yes -They can! Join us to learn about the different types of advocacy and lobbying that nonprofits can do and how to do it and stay in compliance with the law.
This workshop is designed to help nonprofits that are just starting to do some advocacy and lobbying or have not yet done any advocacy or lobbying before. We will cover the basics of how government works and how nonprofits can advocate and partner with government entities to help accomplish their missions. We will also address the legal compliance and limitations that all nonprofits should know about.
