This three-part series is for open minded, movement inclined bodyworkers who wish to deepen their own self-awareness in order to better support their clients.
You will not learn yet another technique here.
Instead, youll discover an experiential shift in how you relate to your own body, your clients bodies, and whats possible in a therapeutic relationship.
Grounded in anatomy and physiology, we will take a journey through our inner terrain and become more intelligent conduits for supporting others in their healing.
Our exploration combines conscious movement, drawing, writing, and hands on practice.
Get ready for moments of insight and ahas!
How it Works
Body Journeys guides us through the body as a gateway to access our whole being. As bodyworkers, we address the physical with our touch, and yet are also impacting the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of our clients. This is not an invitation to go outside our scope of practice. Its an invitation to know ourselves more fully, and to get curious about what gets us stuck in certain patterns.
As hands-on therapists, when we cultivate a positive relationship to ourselves, we create a healthier resonance for others. When we are present and available, grounded in our own well-being, our clients nervous systems intrinsically drop in a little deeper to their own well-being.
What Youll Receive
Youll become more resourced and confident in your ability to support others.
You will also develop a greater awareness of what you are bringing to the table so that your impact on your clients comes from a more clear, present transmission.
You will gain a fresh perspective of your own anatomy, allowing for deeper understanding of the body, thus giving you a more intricate toolkit as a bodyworker.
Body Journeys are for you if you are:
Looking to satisfy and/or renew your curiosity about the body.
Wanting to reignite your passion for your practice.
New to the field of massage therapy and would like to have more confidence and clarity in the treatment room.
Would like to bring more playfulness to your sessions.
Stuck in a rut with your sessions and would like a different approach to table work.
Its not about doing something to somebody else...When were putting our hands on someone, were transmitting organ, liver, blood vessel, blood, lymph rather than saying, This is where your lymph is. I dont know where your lymph is, I only know where mine is. But then your lymph has a similar vibration and our bodies recognize that. ~ Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Founder of Body-Mind Centering
