First Ladies in African American History 2019
The Dr.Carter G. Woodson African American Museum will celebrate "First Ladies in African American History," Sunday, April 28,2019, 4:00 pm at the Marriott, 12600 Roosevelt Blvd. St.Petersburg, Florida 33713.
In its fifth year, the total number of women honored since its inception have included some of the areas most distinguished African American females.
In 2018, the Woodson added a category to include an extraordinary White female who has worked tirelessly to advance the causes of women of color and who has given generously of their time and efforts to ensure the advancement of the Woodson's initiatives. The award has been named the "Winne Foster Life Time Achievement Award" in honor of one of St. Petersburg's most celebrated heroin's.
This year's honorees will include:
Bridgette Heller - First African American Female to hold EVP positions with numerous pharmaceutical companies national and internationally. Jeanine Menze - First African American Pilot in the US Coast Guard. Nadine Smith - First African American female CEO of Equality Florida. Sharon Welch - First African American female manager of the City of St. Pete's ICS Division.
Patricia Wright - First African American female Principal of Southside Fundamental Middle School and first female principal of Northeast High School and first African American female appointed to the position as Director of School Operations.

Woodson Warrior Scholarship Recipients will also be awarded during this extraordinary event.
