Girasol: An Evening of Latinx Performances
Girasol: An Evening of Latinx Performances curated and hosted by Isaac Gomez and Nancy Garcia Loza: A mix of live music, spoken word, live lit and comedy with two of Chicagos most prominent Latinx artists. Other performers include poets Davon Clark and Keren Diaz de Leon and storytellers Wendy Mateo and Karari Olvera. More artists, including several musicians, being announced soon!
Gomez is a prominent playwright, dramaturg and educator based in Chicago and originally from El Paso, TX. His acclaimed play "La Ruta" debuted last year at Steppenwolf and was developed in conjunction with several theaters, including Pivot Arts.
Loza is a Mexican-American pocha playwright based in Chicago and Jalisco. Along with Gomez, she's a Creative Co-Director with ALTA Chicagos El Semillero: Latinx Playwrights Circle. "MACHA: a mocha sister story," Loza's inaugural play, garnered praise as a 2017 finalist for the Theater on the Lake In The Works: New Play Commission.
