Flamenco - Dos Cantaores ~ Una Guitarra

Spanish Flamenco Singer Celedonio Garrido is coming to Calgary and will be performing at Loft 112 alongside vocalist Silvia Temis and guitarist Tosh Hayashi on May 16th and 17th.

Celedonio Garrido visits us from his home in Seville, Spain to share a very special couple of evenings of traditional flamenco singing. Originally from Huelva, a town which gave birth to it's own flamenco song form, the Fandango de Huelva, Celedonio has been surrounded by flamenco singing since birth as his grandfather used to sing around the home. A serious student of flamenco singing since his teens, Celedonio has a deep understanding and feel for flamenco's song forms, his voice transmitting powerful energy and emotion. It is a rare pleasure and honor to have Celedonio sing for us the songs of his homeland.

Silvia and Tosh have been appearing together regularly in Calgary as part of numerous flamenco performance projects over the past few years, most recently for: the Flamenco Tablao series at Junction Food, Bar, Stage; as guest artists for both the 2018 and 2019 Flamenco Community Concerts at Cité des Rocheuses; and at Loft 112's own intimate series of peña-style Flamenco shows.

The combination of two flamenco voices is a rare and wonderful treat. Come experience Andalucian singer Celedonio Garrido, Mexican singer Silvia Temis, and Andalucia-trained Canadian flamenco guitarist Tosh Hayashi as they take you on an intimate journey through some of Spain's most beautiful flamenco song forms.

Expect an acoustic and unplugged evening of guitar and vocal interpretations of traditional flamenco song.
