Aristocats at Pump House
The Aristocats will play a set of jazz, swing and Dixieland standards from the early 1900s through the 1990s. The Aristocats music charts consist from early jazz of the Tin Pan Alley, The Roaring Twenties, big band charts of Duke Ellington and Count Basie, and of course the great songs and vocals by George Gershwin and others that has made The Great American Songbook so popular. In addition, we encourage audience participation and requests.
The musicians have years' of musical experience. Leader, Lloyd Kaplan, who is in the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, plays the clarinet and saxophone. Nat Piccirilli, soon to be the age of "99" in April, plays the banjo and guitar. Dennis Pratt, a former educator for the West Warwick School System, plays the upright bass and vocals. Joe Holtzman, plays a "tasty style" of drums.
