Vincent High School Ag Showcase
Harold S. Vincent High School of Agricultural Sciences has reinvented its 90-acre campus to offer students unique, hands-on learning experiences. On May 2nd, visit Vincent High School and see how they incorporate landscape management and farming into their curriculum.
Highlights include: 1. A soil testing demonstration from Midwest Grows Green's Ryan Anderson and University of Wisconsin's soil biologist Dr. Doug Soldat. Dr. Soldat will take initial soil samples at our Vincent High School research plots that quantify the soil quality benefits achieved by natural lawn care of increased nutrients, balanced pH, improved water retention and more.
2. A look into Vincent High School's green infrastructure schoolyard redevelopment plan created by the non-profit Reflo.
3. Livestock management demos of goats, lambs, piglet and more.
4. And, much, much more!
This is a Milwaukee Grows Green Weekend event, more information on MGG Weekend activities can be found at bit.ly/MGGweekend19 or by contacting Midwest Grows Green's Ryan Anderson at randerson@ipminstitute.org
