Camp Harmony Benefit Concert hosted by the SFFMC
Hello Folk-music lovers of the San Francisco Bay Area,
This years SFFMC, Camp Harmony Benefit Concert will be back at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (BFUU) on Saturday, April 27, from 6:30-10:00 pm. The show starts at 7:00 PM. As we have lost our beloved Camp Newman to the Santa Rosa Fires in 2017 the committee found camp a new home for Harmony in the hills of West-Marin, at Walker Creek Ranch. This means that Camp itself is significantly more expensive, and well need your help more than ever to cover those increased costs than the great rates we had previously. Thank you to everyone for making our first year at Walker Creek, a good and successful one. This year will feature a line-up of some of our San Francisco Folk Music Club favorites including,
Jaeger and Reid, Audiences on the east and west coasts have been captivated by their honest, intelligent original songs, the delicate interplay of their voices and guitars and the stunning harmonies which brought them together. Prepare to be moved.
Pete Kronowit, Four albums and 30 years of performing, touring and activism, Pete Kronowitts songs lie at the juncture where culture and passion clash with politics. Soulful. Pointed. Poignant. Playful.
The Dulcimates, are DJ Hamouris & Buffalo, singing in harmony, and playing mountain dulcimers for 40 years. Their music spans millennia, with both traditional & traditionally-inspired originals.
Leftover Dreams, takes little known gems of the Great American Songbook and sings them with creative vocal arrangements. From romantic ballads to swinging numbers, they evoke the 30s and 40s but with a new twist on old songs.
Daniel Hersh and Valerie Rose, Fiddler/singer Valerie Rose and concertina player Daniel Hersh play tunes and songs from Ireland, Great Britain, the Shetland Islands, Sweden, and North America.
Chuck Wheeler, Lonesome Chuck Wheeler is a well-known and beloved member of the San Francisco Folk community, and a retired conductor/ gripman on the cable cars of San Francisco. His melodious tone is particularly suited to western ballads & the occasional yodels he performs.
Yes M'am. Three dynamic female vocalists have teamed up to create a trio with saucy, spicy and surprising harmonies. With roots deep in American folk traditions.
Well be bringing back a great Mediterranean catering menu for additional donations and would love to see your shining faces. Let us know if you can volunteer to help out/ keep us in good beer either before or during the concert.
$20 -40 suggested donation
Thank you! -The Camp Harmony Committee
