Bus Trip to Lyman Allyn Museum of Art
Join us for a fantastic opportunity to visit one of southeastern Connecticuts gems. The Lyman Allyn Museum of Art houses more than 17,000 objects from all over the world, with strong collections of American painting, decorative arts, and Victorian toys and doll houses.
Their newest permanent exhibition is Tiffany in New London. It explores the life and career of artist, designer, and glassmaker Louis Comfort Tiffany through the lens of New London, focusing on the artists unique connections to the region. This Gilded Age permanent collection gallery includes stained-glass windows, lamps, favrile glass vessels, silver, jewelry, paintings, archival photographs, and other objects, some of which come from Tiffany family descendants.
Our experience at Lyman Allyn will begin with a curator-led tour of Tiffany in New London, followed by time to browse the rest of the museum. Lunch will follow, and then well board the bus to return to the CHS.
The bus will depart the CHS at 8:30 am and return at approximately 3:30 pm.
The trip is $95 for CHS members and $105 for non-members, and includes lunch. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
