The California Democratic Party's African American Caucus in partnership with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference is proud to host the inaugural Ubuntu Summit. Ubuntu is a Zulu word which means I am because we are. This summit serves to gather African American thought leaders from around the state to create a Black community centered platform for the Democratic Party. Several elected officials and other community stakeholders will provide panel discussions as well as issue related conversation on the issues that affect California's African American community. The event coincides with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's Awards Luncheon, where trailblazers from across the nation will be honored for their community leadership and advocacy.
Breakfast, lunch and childcare will be provided.
