Sign Up to Decorate The Huntington 2020 Rose Parade Float
Register for a shift to decorate The Huntington 2020 Rose Parade Float!
For the first time in 50 years, The Huntington will join Pasadena's world-famous Rose Parade® with a spectacular float, themed "Cultivating Curiosity," to capture the spirit of The Huntington's Centennial Celebration and highlight the institution's rare research materials, inspiring art collections, and enchanting botanical gardens that have made it a beloved destination that welcomes 750,000 visitors each year.
If you are interested in participating in this wonderful opportunity, please review the following requirements BEFORE reserving a shift:
- Float decorators must be at least 13 years of age.
- ALL SHIFTS ARE EITHER 7 OR 8 HOURS and decorators are expected to complete a full shift. [8 a.m.-4 p.m.] [9 a.m.-5 p.m.] [4 p.m.-11 p.m.]
- Shifts include a 30-minute meal break, food provided by The Huntington.
- Decorators need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of their shift.
- Decorators need to arrange their own transportation to and from the Phoenix Float Decorating Company in Irwindale.
- Please wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes that you can stand in for 8 hours, and warm clothes that may get dirty.
NOTES: Shifts on 12/7, 12/14, and 12/21 will be decorating with dry materials (seeds, nuts, beans). All other shifts will be decorating with floral materials.
Shifts on 12/30 (4 p.m. only) and 12/31 (6 a.m.) will be ongoing until the float is finished!

Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, volunteers are required to work the entire 8 hours, and these shifts are the only way to assist on the float. |
