A LOVE SUPREME ELECTRIC returns to Soquel with its ever-evolving electric reframing of Coltranes greatest work, which will be the first set. For the second set the band will shift gears to take a look at some mid-70s electric classics of Miles Davis that Kaiser explored so completely 20 years ago with Wadada Leo Smith in the YO MILES! project. Pharaoh Sanders and other Coltrane material will also get the electricification treatment. Guitarist Alan Licht (Love Child, Lee Renaldo, Jim ORourke, etc ) has come from New York to make a rare California appearence for this show. John Hanrahan is a veteran drummer of the Chicago music scene based in Santa Cruz. Henry Kaiser is a fixture on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. He has recorded with David Lindley, Richard Thompson, Bill Laswell, Wadada Leo Smith, Jerry Garcia, and has more than 300 albums in his discography. Terry Shields is a member of Joe Cravens band. Andrew Dixon is one of the finest young sax players in the Bay Area.
