Secrets of the Cellar with the Winemaker The Italian Way
It's all about Italian and Portuguese grapes for our next Secrets of the Cellar with our winemaker Lisa Lee. We'll experience a vertical tasting with our 2010, 2012 and 2015 Barbera. Then compare the acidity and aromas with the bright freshness of a 2012 Sangiovese. As a special treat, we'll uncork one of only 6 bottles of 2009 Touriga.
Throughout the evening you'll gain an appreciation for these friendly and uncommon varietals and an understanding of what foods pair well with the rich fruit and deep tannins, balanced with a mouth watering acidity. And what better way to finish off the night than with a 2003 Vino de Amor.
This event is open to Charles R Club Members only. Selection of hors d'oeuvres available for pairing. Wines tasted will be available for sale with special pricing on this evening only. Please wear modest shoes and a sweater or jacket as you will be walking to and from the cellar on a gravel road.
