Play Along with Vernon and Kitty McIntyre
Are you a musician who'd like to hone your craft and get ready to play out with a bluegrass band? If so, come play along with professional bluegrass musicians, Vernon and Kitty McIntyre!
In this 5 week class you'll develop 10 performance-ready bluegrass tunes, arrange and practice them until you can play them to a lively beat (that means fast!).
When: Tuesdays 7-8:30 pm
4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21 and 5/28/2019
Where: The Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC)
How: Register online (or at OCAC) for $150 per person
Requirements: This class is for Adults (18 and up) who play the Banjo, Guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle, and/or Upright Bass. Banjo, Guitar, and Mandolin players need to know how to form G, A, Am, C, D, and F chords on their instruments.
There will also be some individual homework required for this class. You will be given a recording of 10 traditional bluegrass tunes to practice on your own before they are covered in the class.
With Vernon and Kitty's help, transition from a good player to a great player - who is ready to play out with confidence in a bluegrass band!
