Cousin Alice with Mark Hartman
COUSIN ALICE

Mark Harman, Piano

Think Tom Waites meets Peggy Lee & Marianne Faithful  Jools Holland

Cousin Alices unique singing and playing are gritty, heartfelt and sweet, delivered with humor and a captivating personality. She seduces audiences with her smokey voice and antique banjo-ukelele playing, backed by the finest International Jazz and Blues Musicians.

Holding the crowd in the palm of her hand, be it a large music venue or intimate cabaret club, Cousin Alice is a magnetic performer. A talented singer/songwriter, she performs a collection of jazz standards, pop, nostalgia, blues, and her own original work, including Kukerichoo, a number one hit in South Korea. Based in London but raised in New Zealand, of Barbadian/Welsh/English/Sephardi parentage, she draws on a rich infusion of Maori, Polynesian, Carribean and Calypso culture.

Live performances have been embraced around the world in Australia, Canada, Caribbean, UK, Europe, Mexico, USA, and Ireland. Her residencies include the famous Café de Paris, Brasserie Zedel, Boisdales of Canary Wharf and Belgravia, and The National Theatre Foyer Stage on Londons South Bank. Shes swung through many a ballroom, banquet and bar, The Savoy, Hampton Court Palace, The Groucho Club, Berkeley Square Ball, The Times/BFI London International Film Festival, The Canary Wharf Jazz Festival along with an eclectic mix of London nightclubs -The Ram Jam Club, Rays Jazz Cafe, the sequined underworld of the Voluptè Lounge, 1920s themed Black Cotton Club, Sohos Black Gardenia, Passing Clouds and Stranger Than Paradise.

Her albums and EPs (below) All in a Day, Pour Me, Made in Rio, Live at Boisdales, Under Blue Skies and After Hours are available on Apple Music, Amazon, and Spotify.
