6th Annual Gourmet Ghetto Wine Walk
Sample local small production wines and enjoy small bites at participating businesses along Shattuck Ave. & Vine St. in North Berkeley's Gourmet Ghetto at our annual Wine Walk. Bring a date or friends for a fun evening to sip, stroll and shop for a good cause - proceeds will benefit the Berkeley Public Schools Fund, which provides classroom grants to teachers across the city!
This year, our spring events will be "Two for the Teachers" - check out our Taste of North Berkeley event will also go towards direct grants through the Schools Fund, and you can save and enjoy both events - see option on ticket page.
The Gourmet Ghetto Wine Walk pairs local and regional wineries with participating neighborhood shops - and hosting businesses will have a variety of small sweet and savory bites to accompany the wine selections. Our businesses also will have special deals and happenings as well.
The event will feature a variety of local and regional wineries, including Berkeley's own Broc Cellars, Urbano Cellars Winery, Lusu Cellars, Windchaser Wine Co, Carica Wines (started in Berkeley and now at Rigger Loft in Richmond) Lynda Tranel Vineyards, paired with local shops. ACCI Gallery, M. Lowe & Company, and Guerilla Cafe will host wineries and have art on exhibit, CheeseQuakes and Soop in Epicurious Garden will have wine paired with tastes, and you can search for deals while you sip at A Priori - Berkeley, Foxglove, Himalayan Tribes and De Visu Optical. Our wine shop and eateries, including Vintage Berkeley, Saul's Restaurant & Delicatessen, AgroDolce, Nico's 1508, Cheese Board Collective and Victory Point Cafe will be pouring favorites from their own selections with nibbles as well.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of the event. Check in at our sales/will call tent starting at 4:30pm on the day of the event for your map of participating shops and instructions. Visit in any order you wish - Price includes a commemorative Gourmet Ghetto tasting glass and entry into a raffle for wine country prizes including a tasting for four from Cline Winery in Sonoma!
