The Bellingham Roller Betties invite you to a special in-season All-Stars and Subdued City Rollers junior derby triple-header. Doors open at 2:00 PM and the first juniors bout begins at 3:00 PM. The event includes three full-length roller derby bouts, a half-time flag-derby mini bout, and belly dancing with the Portico Dance Company.
BOUT SCHEDULE 3:00 PM Subdued City Rollers Rockstars VS Southside Revolution 5:00 PM Betties All-Stars VS. Rated PG Northstars 7:00 PM Subdued City Rollers vs Marysville Derby Demons
The Bellingham Roller Betties All-Star team will skate against the visiting team from Prince George, BC - the Rated PG Northstars. The Subdued City Rollers is Bellingham's junior derby league. They have three teams that play different levels of derby: Monstars (Level 1, Flag-Derby), Rockstars (Level 2, no hitting/positional roller derby), and All-Stars (Level 3, full-contact play). The Rockstars will skate against Southside Revolution from Seattle, and the All-Stars will skate against the Marysville Derby Demons in full-length derby bouts. The Monstars will have a mini-bout between games. The Subdued City Rollers includes skaters ranging in age from 5-18. This special All-Stars bout will take place at the Whatcom Community College Pavilion (241 W. Kellogg Rd.). Free parking is available in the parking lot located on Eliza Avenue, just south of W. Kellogg Rd.
Our food truck for this bout will be Cicchitti's Pizza, offering up the yummiest East Coast style slices. In addition, we have a concessions stand selling chips, candy and soda, and a Boundary Bay Beer Garden serving beer, wine, and cider trackside. There will be a merch booth to pick up all your Betties and home team swag, and often our visiting teams also have items for sale. We have amazing volunteers that set up a Bitties table outside of the gym offering activities for our youngest fans such as arts and crafts and skater autographs. This year, our community partner is NAMI Whatcom- the National Alliance for Mental Illness that aims to provide hope and improve the quality of life for those who are affected by mental illness through support, education, and advocacy. NAMI Whatcom will be present at all of our bouts this season - stop by their booth to learn more or offer support for this growing nonprofit organization.
