The Dennis Brennan Band featuring Duke Levine, Richard Gates and Billy Beard return to the carpets of the Lizard Lounge at tonight's penultimate show. The band will return for one more show next week!. Look for the usual exploration of the fantastic songs of Dennis Brennan and some choice covers. The interval tonight features Hope and Things, the Boston based indie rock band featuring Justin Bartlett and Carly Kraft, exploring hypnotic guitar riffs and ambient synths.
The Dennis Brennan Band was nominated for Best Ongoing Residency at the Lizard at last years Boston Music Awards and it's easy to see why. Look for frequent themes woven into their sets such as cities; Memphis, New Orleans, Los Angeles... or a style, Country, Knucklehead Rock, Garage...or a particular songwriter/s, Dan Penn, Goffin/King, Arthur Alexander, Ray Davies, Doug Sahm. In addition the band will mine much of the back catalog mixed in with the new material from the brand new CD INTO THIS WORLD released earlier this month. As the band did last season, special guests open the second set each week with a short set.
