A.D. Amorosi Thinks the World of You and electronic music by Frank Bengermino
Join us for an evening with culture, music and theater journalist and radio host A.D. Amorosi as he talks about writing and anything off the top of his head. Questions are encouraged.
A.D. Amorosi is a Philadelphia-based, international journalist. He started his career writing a gossip column for the late Philadelphia City Paper, before veering into features and reviews on all things cultural, culinary and political for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News, and Philly.com. He helped co-create Philadelphia Style magazine and he also writes regularly for Variety, Flood, ICON, Magnet, and Philadelphia Gay News. He runs a web mag, GlamorosiMagazine.com, with his wife Reese, a recipe developer and award-winning gardener. He also writes for the international publications Jazz Times, Billboard, Magnet, and Wax Poetic. Amorosi hosts/produces his own radio talk show Theater in the Round (WPPM FM) and lectures on trends in journalism and marijuana/CBD legislation. The Amorosis live with their greyhound Django (named for gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt) and doves named John and Yoko in South Philadelphia's Italian Market area.
Frank Bengermino (recording occasionally as The Quistatz Hadarak) from Philadelphia, performs spontaneously improvised electronic music. All performed on hardware synthesizers in real time. Influenced by the early Berlin school of Electronic Music and other space rock bands of the 70s and 80s. Music may be atmospheric and/or discordant depending on the directions of the improvisations.
