ARC Orchestra: The New World Symphony
Inspired by Dvorák's love of Native American music and African-American spirituals, the New World Symphony is a celebration of rhythms, counterpoint, and orchestral majesty. It is so well-loved that, in 1969, astronaut Neil Armstrong took a recording of the work on the Apollo 11 mission, the first Moon landing.
The orchestra will also perform: Dvorak cello concerto, first movement Jia-mo Chen, cello Light Cavalry Overture Franz von Suppé
