Whatcom Museum Sunset History Cruise
JOIN THE WHATCOM MUSEUM ON THE WATER THIS SUMMER! The Whatcom Museum is pleased to present its 36th year of the popular summer history cruises along Bellingham Bay, partnering again with locally owned and operated San Juan Cruises. The weekly cruises are offered on Tuesday evenings and leave from the Bellingham Cruise Terminal in Fairhaven.
ABOUT The tour takes a close-up view of parks, businesses, industry, and neighborhoods from Bellingham Bay. It travels down waterways and past shipyards, historic points of interest, fishing activities, and the work and pleasure boats, freighters and tugboats that are in the harbor. Harbor seals and water birds are regularly seen - it's a memorable evening!
Either Brian Griffin or Doug Starcher will be your tour guide, tying their knowledge of local history with up-to-date facts about bay activities. The narrative of history, trivia, and current events makes cruise guests feel they are becoming experts on their community and have new understanding of the place they live or are visiting.
Guests travel aboard the 100-foot Puget Sound tour boat Victoria Star, which leaves from the Bellingham Cruise Terminal in Fairhaven. The boat has indoor and outdoor seating on two levels, an on-board snack bar, and a full bar with a selection of Northwest beers, wines, and cocktails. Restrooms are available on board. Guests are welcome to bring dinner, snacks, and beverages (non-alcoholic) for a picnic-style dinner on board.
