LUNAFEST 2019 - Benefitting WomenCARE Santa Cruz
LUNAFEST is a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women. This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through nine short films by women filmmakers. The films range from animation to fictional drama, and cover topics such as womens health, body image, relationships, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.
Each year, various organizations bring LUNAFESTs to their communities and raise funds for their local non-profits as well as Chicken & Egg Pictures, a nonprofit organization that supports women nonfiction filmmakers whose artful and innovative storytelling catalyzes social change.
Benefitting WomenCARE locally. Since 1992, WomenCARE of Santa Cruz County offers support to women diagnosed with any type of cancer and to their family and friends. Our Watsonville program Entre Nosotras (Between Us) provides culturally appropriate services for Spanish speaking clients. Pre-Show Party!
Join us at our Pre-Show Reception at Rio Theatre from 6 - 7 pm, featuring a no-host cash wine bar, beer, cider and light appetizers. Wines donated by Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard, Ralph Maltese and Sheila Peck, and Hallcrest Vineyards. Cider donated by Santa Cruz Scrumpy. Beer donated by Discretion Brewery.
