The Midnight Mission is embarking on a new event with Homeward LA to raise awareness and funds for our life saving programs and services, the Homeward LA Kick-Off. This high-profile, high-end event will feature celebrities reading monologues of powerful stories from people who have experienced homelessness. It is the launch of Homeward LA and the subsequent productions around the Los Angeles.

What is Homeward LA?
In Homeward LA's pilot year, 11 individuals who have experienced homelessness shared their personal stories with volunteer writers. Nearly 300 actors performed the monologues in 26 productions all around Los Angeles. The event was covered by FOX News, the LA Weekly, and a number of other media outlets. Approximately 2,000 people were moved and inspired by stories from those who strive to find their way home.
In 2019, from April 26 to May 5, Homeward LA will happen again. This time, the plan is to have 50 productions all over Los Angeles, with over 5,000 people bearing witness.

Mission:
To offer a bridge to self-sufficiency for people experiencing homelessness through recovery services, counseling, education, training, workforce development and continued care services. To make available the necessities of life to people experiencing homelessness: food, shelter, clothing, personal hygiene needs and medical care.
