Restorative Yoga led by Leslee Bassin with Live Music with Shantala
With the use of props to completely support the physical body, we will be guided into longer held poses allowing a deep state of exploration, connection, awareness, and acceptance. Combined with the transformative healing quality of Shantalas music, this class invites you to draw your attention inward creating a sanctuary for mind, body, and spirit. From this place of inner stillness we have the ability to remember who we truly are and shine from the inside out into the world.
About Leslee Bassin:
With over 25 years of study in the various styles of Hatha Yoga and Bhakti Yoga, Leslee Bassins classes focus on assisting others to know the teacher within. Her extensive experience as a critical care nurse and most recently working with palliative care patients, Leslee has explored and shared the practice of Yoga as a vehicle for deeper understanding and healing.
Drawing on the inspiration and guidance from all her teachers, past and present, she creates an environment that encourages each individuals unique expression on and off the mat. Her openness and genuine desire to share the benefits of Yoga give students the opportunity to mature, connect, and expand within their practice.
About Shantala:
Benjy and Heather Wertheimer have been leading kirtan (sacred chanting) worldwide since 2001 as the duo Shantala. They are known for their special gift of bringing the audience into a vast and loving experience through their unique blend of exquisite voices with instruments of India and the West. Together they create music with beauty, passion, and reverence. Heather and Benjy have released five beautiful and well-loved albums of sacred chant music since 2003, including Living Waters, Jaya, LIVE in love, Sri, and The Love Window. They also have a passionate international online following, with hundreds of thousands of YouTube video views, millions of iTunes/Apple Music downloads, and millions of streams on Spotify in 2018 alone.
Shantala has performed and recorded internationally with such sacred music luminaries as Krishna Das, Deva Premal & Miten, and Jai Uttal.
