La Follia performs Mozart and Haydn
La Follia performs the peerless music of Mozart and Haydn. Featured are Mozart's Oboe Quartet, Haydn's Concerto for Harpsichord and Violin, and Mozart's Concerto for Flute in D major. Stephen Redfield, Karen Clarke, Billy Traylor, and Marcus McGuff guest star.
While it is common to hear music of Mozart and Haydn performed, it is rare to hear it performed with instruments like they used, and at the pitch that they used. For example, most of us do not think of Haydn writing for the harpsichord, much less writing a double concerto for harpsichord and violin. And yet, indeed he did, and splendid music it is too. Come hear these classics performed as the masters themselves heard them.
