[Description]
The dark and bluesy, one-night-only cabaret is back and filling in the "loud and obnoxious" vacuum left by the absence of the Blue Angels with Seattle: B-Sides & Rarities. Independent producers Jim Jewell, Paul Shipp, and Joe Zavadil cap off a weekend of hydros, pirates, and clowns with theater, music, poetry, and stories celebrating our beloved passive-aggressive, self-satisfied, faux-hippy, civic-development-stallin', traffic-nightmare-creatin', built-on-its-own-ashes city on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 7:30pm at West of Lenin in Fremont.
Seattle: B-Sides & Rarities brings together some new blood with favorite performers from past B-Sides to expose and then inappropriately fondle the dark underbelly of Seattle and its bizarre mid-summer weekend celebration of aquatic proximity with: - short plays by Jim Jewell, Dan Tarker, and Rod Tipton; - songstressing by Rebecca Mm Davis; - poetry from Paul Mullin; - musical madness from John McKenna; - storytelling from the inimitable Jennifer Jasper; ...and more. Producer Jim Jewell says, "I like to describe B-Sides as a one-night, one-stop vaudeville tour. We are constantly recruiting new artists, and the artist line-up is always subject to change. At least until curtain."
Tickets for this one-night-only event are $15 online or $18 at the door. Seating is general admission and extremely limited. More information can be found at the B-Sides & Rarities Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/bsidesrarities.
Seattle: B-Sides & Rarities is supported by 14/48: The World's Quickest Theater Festival.
