Getsome Athletics is coming back to Tokyo, Japan to teach derby athletes all of the newest roller derby skills and strategies as well as how to beat them! This exclusive two day clinic will be hosted by world renowned coaches and Rat City All Stars team members, Shorty Ounce and Carmen Getsome! There will also be a two day ref clinic for all of the refs to improve their officiating skills!!
The clinic will be:
Saturday and Sunday 9am-4pm Derby Skills and Strategy
Just some classes that will be offered over the weekend clinic include: - Jamming with Intelligence - Effective Start Line Strategy - How to be Effective in a Power Jam - Playing from 19 feet - Advanced Strategies and How to Counter Them
At the end of Saturday and Sunday you get to put your skills to the test during scenario style classes and scrimmaging with Carmen and Shorty where the coaches earn their keep and play alongside the participants!! A full weekend of new classes and drills will be brought to this clinic and you will find yourself learning new techniques and strategies to catapult you, your team and your league to the next level!
Skaters from any and all leagues are welcome and encouraged to participate. This will be your only chance to experience the Getsome Athletics in 2013 and registrations are limited so book now!

Carmen Getsome:
Carmen Getsome is a 7 year Rat City Allstar member that has been voted by her leaguemates as MVP for the past five years in a row. A hardworking athlete that has proven her skill and leadership by not only skating for the currently #6 roller derby team in the world but by starting a banked track team. Carmen believes versatility is an important component to success so while you work with her at camp you will experience drills that resemble other sports and types of workouts that come together to not only improve your derby skills but your athleticism.
Shorty Ounce: Recongized by her teammates 2011 as the Rat City Rollergirls Rookie of the Year, and 2012 as the most defensive blocker of the year, Shorty Ounce is proof that powerful things come in small packages!
Shorty Ounce has coached all over the world! From Australia to North Carolina, she has taught people how to hold their walls together to help people put their weight in the proper place while blocking to improve their position on the floor as well as how to be an all around awesome blocker!!

Tripp N Dale:
Tripp started officiating roller derby in 2007 with the Carolina Rollergirls as an NSO. After 6 months of reffing, Tripp was voted in as the new Carolina Rollergirls head ref in 2008. He has been the head ref ever since that vote.
Tripp has officiated over 225 bouts, has performed every reffing position as well as most NSO positions in sanctioned bouts.
Tripp has worked a total of 9 WFTDA Big 5 Tournaments in positions ranging from Stats to Penalty box manager to Crew Head Ref.
In 2012, Tripp became the first referee to advance all the way from a Level 2 certification to a Level 5 certification.
Tripp is a founding member of ARROW and has been involved in discussions since day one. He is very proud of the ARROW leadership and looks forward to ARROW becoming a vital part of roller derby in all forms, all over the world.
