Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons/Christopher Paul Stelling/Dan Blakeslee
Another of our over-the-top triple bills. Don't miss this show.
Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons
Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons is an Americana band that began in Providence, RI in 2005. This will mark Joe's fourth time playing Lily Pads, and the third with the Wrong Reasons. In 2007, Joe and the Wrong Reasons recorded their debut album BURY YOUR PROBLEMS. The record received overwhelmingly positive reviews and Fletcher's story-driven songwriting began catching national attention earning comparisons to Cash, Cave, Cohen, and Dylan.
After a series of lengthy U.S. tours in support of Bury Your Problems, Joe Fletcher & the Wrong Reasons released their sophomore effort WHITE LIGHTER in December 2010. Following the recording of White Lighter, rhythm kings Dave Hemingway (drums) and Joe Principe (upright and electric bass) joined the organization, and guitar hero Damien Puerini stayed on in the lead role.
Joe and the Wrong Reasons played a triumphant set at Newport Folk Festival in 2012, and they return to Newport this year with Joe curating a special "From Nashville to Newport" showcase at the festival.
Christopher Paul Stelling
Brooklyn-based CP Stelling is an unforgettable songwriter, guitarist and live performer, who hits our stage for the first time. His new record is False Cities. "it wasn't until Christopher Paul Stelling performed that the final emotional wall came crashing down. As though he was reliving every emotional moment that went into the creation of each of his songs, he dug deeper than I've seen just about anyone, and everyone in the room was channeled into every second" NY Press
Dan Blakeslee
There is no one like Dan Blakeslee. From the power and beauty of his album Tatnic Tales, to his singular artwork, Dan is a true creative force. Among his many exploits, Dan created the powerful Hearts for Boston image, that raised more than $12K for families affected by the Marathon bombing. He returns to Lily Pads this night, his last time here was with Jonah Tolchin in June 2012.
We are very excited about this incredible lineup. Be here.
