Without warning, a rampaging river monster appears in the heart of Seoul and starts gobbling people up. It may or may not be the result of a chemical dump into the Han River, but Gang-Du (Song), a dimwitted snack vendor, doesn't care. He's only interested in rescuing his daughter from the beast. The scene that introduces the monster is one of the most exhilarating creature attack scenes ever but it's the extremely well done emotional heart to the film that makes it work so well.
