Beyond This Moment
A culmination of over a year and half of creativity and rehearsal, Dana Lawton will present her evening length piece, Beyond This Moment. Exploring the idea of memories, both shared and individual, the piece weaves through a lifetime of beauty, reflection, challenges and joy.
Collaboration with musicians Sean McCue and Michelle Bauchesne, along with Bill Flores and Jon Lawton enhance the movement sections with deft skill and delicacy. Original stage and lighting design by Linda Baumgardener create a sacred space to explore the deeper recesses of memory.
Two key creative components are social relevancy and collaboration in a diverse community of artists. DLD is unique in that it includes a wide age range (23-60) of dancers. Working in rehearsals we develop personal stories, investigate how each feels in his/her body and where they have been in their lives.
